Jeanne Toyo Wakatsuki Houston (September 26, 1934 – December 21, 2024) was an American writer. Her writings primarily focused on ethnic identity formation in the United States of America. She is best known for her autobiographical novel ''Farewell to Manzanar'' that narrates her personal experiences in World War IIincarceration camps. The book has been credited with sharing the story of the Japanese American incarceration with generations of young people.
