Ryan T. Anderson

Anderson in May 2023 Ryan Thomas Anderson (born 1981) is an American political commentator. His writings and positions closely align with religious conservatism in the United States. He is the president of the Ethics and Public Policy Center and the John Paul II Teaching Fellow in Social Thought at the University of Dallas. He is a member of the James Madison Society and Fellow of the Institute for Human Ecology at the Catholic University of America. He was previously the William E. Simon senior research fellow at The Heritage Foundation, and the founder and editor-in-chief of ''Public Discourse'', the online journal of the Witherspoon Institute. Anderson has also served as an adjunct professor of philosophy and political science at Christendom College, as Visiting Fellow at the Veritas Center at Franciscan University, and as an assistant editor for ''First Things''. Anderson is primarily known for his opposition to abortion as well as LGBT rights in the United States including the legal recognition of same-sex marriage in the United States and laws that ban the practice of conversion therapy on children.
