Steve Inskeep
Steven Alan Inskeep (; born June 16, 1968) is an American journalist who is currently the host of ''Morning Edition'' and ''Up First'' on National Public Radio. Prior to being host of ''Morning Edition'', Inskeep covered the Pentagon, the 2000 presidential campaign of George W. Bush, the U.S. Senate, and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and was host of ''Weekend All Things Considered''.Inskeep is the author of four books: ''Instant City: Life and Death in Karachi'' (2011); ''Jacksonland: President Andrew Jackson, Cherokee Chief John Ross, and a Great American Land Grab'' (2015); ''Imperfect Union: How Jessie and John Fremont Mapped the West, Invented Celebrity, and Helped Cause the Civil War'' (2020); and ''Differ We Must: How Lincoln Succeeded in a Divided America'' (2023).
