Review by Kirkus Book Review

The less-than-diligent hero of Fox and His Friends still hasn't learned his lesson; in the first sketch here, he dreams of the adulation he expects for playing the handsome prince in the school play, then loses the part because he hasn't learned his lines. The second episode ends more positively: Fox balks at going down the chute at a school fire drill but finally overcomes his fear and encourages his teacher, also frightened, to do the same. The last bit is a victory of sorts: left to mind the class during the teacher's brief absence, Fox can't keep order; but when the principal pops in and rival Dexter blames For for the uproar, it is Dexter who is hauled off to the office. Once more James Marshall's animal characters are funny just standing there; but beyond Fox's recognizable imperfections, there is very little to the stories.
