Review by School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr 1-The classic stories have been newly illustrated in a larger format. Rasmussen's illustrations emulate the delicacy and intricacy of the animal world that Beatrix Potter originated while at the same time reflecting certain human characteristics through the subtleties of facial expression. The texts are in an accessible large font against a white background bordered by a thin pale green border. Pictures are both interspersed within the text and also full page on the same pale green background. Still, Potter's work in the original Warne publications remains the standard for these stories. Biographical information about Potter and her legacy is appended.-Rita Soltan, Youth Services Consultant, West Bloomfield, MI (c) Copyright 2010. It is said that the effect of eating too much lettuce is "soporific". I have never felt sleepy after eating lettuces; but then I am not a rabbit. They certainly had a very soporific effect upon the Flopsy Bunnies! Excerpted from The Tale of Flopsy Bunnies by Beatrix Potter All rights reserved by the original copyright owners.
