Review by Kirkus Book Review

Nate the Great scores again when he connects Claude's missing grocery list with Rosalind's new recipe for cat-pancakes: ""salt/milk/butter/flour/tuna fish/eggs/baking powder/sugar/salmon/ liver."" It's all so obvious when you see every cat Rosalind knows gathered in her living room for a cat-pancake party, but laconic Nate mulling over the evidence and returning to the scene of the mystery with his dog Sludge proves that he doesn't need a big vocabulary to be the most successful private eye in town.
