Review by Horn Book Review

Readers learn a few facts about twenty-six unusual mammals, from the aye-aye to the zorilla. Although handsomely illustrated, the volume is constructed from disjointed facts and is more appropriate as an introduction to mammals than as a tool for learning the alphabet. A is the first letter of Aye-Aye. This spooky-faced animal is very hard to find. Not many people have ever seen one alive. It lives in the thick forests of Madagascar, Africa. The Aye-Aye uses its teeth and its long middle finger to dig in trees for insects to eat.
