Review by School Library Journal Review

Gr 6 Up-Buxton presents more than 70 drills for beginner to advanced players. The book opens with a few warm-up and stretching exercises. Specific types of drills are illustrated by at least one colorful action photograph; many are also accompanied by a diagram of the play on the field and additional tips outlined in a skill box. One page emphasizes the importance of cooling down and another offers ideas for off-season training. A full-color photo of an internationally known men's soccer star opens each chapter; both men and women are shown executing the various skills throughout the book. This clearly written title will appeal most to readers who have been enjoying this sport for a few seasons.-Blair Christolon, Prince William Public Library System, Manassas, VA (c) Copyright 2010.
