Review by Library Journal Review

The old admonition about being careful what you wish for takes on grave implications in director George Sluizer's gripping thriller in which a young woman suddenly goes missing while vacationing with her boyfriend. Three years later, the man's obsessive quest leads him to the abductor who grants his wish to learn what happened. In a rarity, Sluizer got to direct the 1993 Hollywood remake, starring Jeff Bridges and Kiefer Sutherland, which was passable until the revised finale catered to American audience expectations.
