Review by School Library Journal Review
Gr 1-3-These books are full of factual information. Each title describes the life cycle of its respective subject, its habitat, and daily care. Labeled photographs indicate the animal's body parts and their functions ("Whiskers for sensing," "Front paws for feeding and grooming," etc.). The author makes it clear that pets must be fed and played with daily and their cages cleaned regularly. Suggestions on how to hold the animal are included. Color photographs show children of different races. These easy-to-read, large-print books will appeal to beginning readers. Excellent overviews of the responsibilities of pet owners.-Cynde Suite, Bartow County Library System, Adairsville, GA (c) Copyright 2010.
