Review by Library Journal Review

Nothing brings a garden to life like a water feature. Fisher, author of the first edition of this title and other gardening books, offers great practical advice on how to tailor a water feature to your skill level and landscaping. Different types of water features are addressed, with excellent instructions and clearly labeled corresponding photos and illustrations. Also included is unique instruction on how to draw a site plan to plot out a water feature. This edition is about 40 pages longer than the previous one, but much of the content remains unchanged. Still, it compares favorably with other water garden books. Recommended. (c) Copyright 2010. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.

Review by Kirkus Book Review

An updated and expanded guide from an authoritative voice on aquatic gardening. For those looking for a peaceful outdoor oasis, a water garden could be the ideal solution. Fisher's elegant book helps novices get started and also offers fresh ideas for more experienced water gardeners. From fountains and waterfalls to streams and bog gardens, Fisher gives step-by-step instructions for building attractive structures. The lessons are clear and concise, even for unfamiliar topics like piping and pumps, and special sections on aquatic plants and fish will help readers truly be able to make their gardens come to life. Fisher's attention to detail is particularly impressive. Readers will benefit from advice as specific as which lighting schemes will create the least amount of garden glare, and with an up-to-date resources section, they will know exactly where to find equipment, animals and plant life that will best suit their properties. With over 600 glossy color photographs and illustrations, the book itself is as aesthetically pleasing as the gardens. Comprehensive and creative, this worthy sequel will be useful to anyone looking to master an inspired landscaping technique. Copyright ©Kirkus Reviews, used with permission.
