Review by Library Journal Review

Lathe work opens up a whole new avenue for woodworking, and woodworking expert Peters (Popular Mechanics Workshop: Table Saw Fundamentals) helps make the transition. He covers the lathe from top to bottom and offers advice on purchasing by brand and make and discusses machine varieties, needed accessories and tools, and maintenance and troubleshooting. More than 300 color illustrations show needed detail and highlight instructional steps. There are eight little woodturning projects at the end, mostly to assist in learning technique and tool use. Peters, a natural teacher, handles this topic with authority at a beginner's level. Another nice addition to the series. Recommended. (c) Copyright 2010.
