Review by Library Journal Review

This attractive book by musician and artist Hageneder is a loving treatment of the essential life of trees. The book's first portion deals with the science of trees; while not all may assent to his Steinerian notion that plant life reflects cosmic forces, his basic biology seems sound. The second portion is a sensitive treatment of more than two dozen trees hallowed by long tradition (willow, beech, hawthorn, etc.) and illustrated by photographs and paintings. For most collections.
