Review by Library Journal Review

In this compendium of imaginative projects, Patrick (former editor, Handwoven magazine) aims to introduce new weavers to the pleasures of weaving without a loom, instead using such techniques as knotting, stringing, and braiding. She emphasizes working with simple materials (e.g., cork, paper, string) and walks readers step by step through 18 projects, among them a plaited paper basket and a braided nine-strand necklace with beads. Patrons wishing to learn loom weaving can turn to Deborah Chandler's Learning To Weave, while weaving novices who just want to get their feet wet will find this book a good introduction to weaving in general.
