Peggy Cappy and Lillah Schwartz are two gifted and recognized instructors who have dedicated themselves to the healing powers of yoga. Both women have created exercise programs that spotlight ways to strengthen the back and shoulders while improving posture. Cappy's Yoga for the Rest of Us focuses on injury prevention, with stretches and exercises designed to strengthen the body's core and improve posture. The DVD has six easy-to-use segments, with moves that can be tailored to the viewer's physical ability. With no distracting background music and with Cappy's "hypnotic" voice, Yoga for the Rest of Us will permit viewers to focus on breathing, carriage, and the sensation of their body. Relief from Neck and Shoulder Pain and Freedom from Back Pain are therapeutic programs designed to assist those with neck, shoulder, and back problems. Schwartz views yoga as a healing art and guides participants through a series of exercises that help with pain management and strengthen and improve stance while relieving stress. Cappy and Schwartz have designed comprehensive yoga DVDs that are effective but have two very different perspectives toward yoga training. Owing to Cappy's gentle manner and classroom-style instruction, which includes the success stories of her students, Yoga for the Rest of Us stretches ahead by a slight margin.-Kathy Wicks, Urbana Free Lib., IL (c) Copyright 2010.
