Review by School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr 2-Dazzling color photos will attract even the most reluctant readers. Each book begins with a glossary and a labeled diagram of the featured creature. What follows is a series of questions, one per spread, about where the animal lives, what it eats, etc. There is also a diagram of its life cycle. Each page has wonderfully illustrative photographs; some are graphic, such as a python choking its prey or a frog eating a dragonfly. All are clear shots of the animal in its habitat. Bredeson has done an excellent job of relating content in these science books that are ideal for beginning readers.-Cynde Suite, Bartow County Library System, Adairsville, GA (c) Copyright 2010.
