Review by Library Journal Review
Here are two more books in the publisher's series aimed at the amateur decorator, both filled with color photographs and practical advice. Callery (1001 Ideas for Color & Paint) gives extensive coverage to the multitude of options available for flooring, including leather and metal. Cost, durability, maintenance, and style are discussed with thumbnail photographs of samples of the variety available for each choice. Photo vignettes show how changes in the color of furnishings and flooring can effect a look. For decks and patios, Martin explains material choices, styles, and accessories, e.g., outdoor grills, planters, and hot tubs. A checklist of practical considerations--obtaining permits, hiring builders--rounds out the information. The highlight of each book is the hundreds of color photographs that depict the options. Both books are recommended for any size public library collection. (c) Copyright 2010. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
