Review by School Library Journal Review

Gr 3-8-Sweet Eats offers mouthwatering recipes, explains how to cook safely and efficiently, and introduces basic skills. In a breezy first-person style, the author covers such useful aspects as how to organize a work space, safety tips, the tools needed, and how and why to do things. The 35 recipes include a pie crust and various frostings/toppings and are accompanied by plenty of full-color visual aids along the way. Each recipe has a brief discussion, an equipment list, cooking time, yield, easy-to-follow directions, and tips to adapt the dish for different taste preferences. Younger readers and older kids alike will gain knowledge and comfort in the kitchen through the use of this book.-Sara Rofofsky Marcus, Yeshiva Har Torah, Little Neck, NY (c) Copyright 2010.
