Gr 3-6--In this interactive book by Liam O'Donnell, illustrated in graphic novel format, super-scientist Max Axiom presents basic information about electricity. The information is provided in four chapters that explain what electricity is, describe how electricity is made, discuss electricity on the move, and more. Diagrams explain concepts, and there are inserts of definitions, safety tips, etc. On occasion, it is difficult to read the labels on some diagrams There is also a glossary with kid-friendly definitions, a bibliography, and links to Web sites. The story can be played automatically or the pace can be controlled manually, and the narration can be turned on or off. Words are highlighted as the text is read. The CD-ROM installs quickly, and navigation is easy. The program can be projected onto a whiteboard for whole class use, or it can be used by individual students to supplement instruction. Kids will enjoy the graphic novel format.--Ann Elders, Mark Twain Elementary School, Federal Way, WA (c) Copyright 2010. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
