Review by School Library Journal Review

Gr 5-9-These attractive volumes take a "readers as tourists" approach, providing details on what to see and what to expect if one were to visit medieval Europe and Florence. Each book is chock-full of color photographs and reproductions, maps, sidebars, and age-appropriate humor. The books are organized around logical categories: "Facts-"; "Everyday Life"; "Things to See and Do"; "On the Move"; "If Things Go Wrong"/"Taking Care of Yourself"; "Good and Bad Times to Visit"; and "Useful Information." The authors have done a commendable job of writing texts that measure up to the rich visual layout. Solid introductions to these time periods.-Tracy H.
