Gr 6 Up-This oversize visual guide is ostensibly written by Archibald Brooks, a vampire slayer. It provides a wealth of information, such as the origins of vampires, their powers, shape-shifting abilities, myths, tips for spotting and protecting oneself from them. When Brooks is murdered in 1920, the guide is passed to his successor, Joshua Kraik, a private detective. Like other titles in the series, Vampireology presents its textual material with beautiful illustrations and an appealing layout. Booklets, flaps, foldouts, personal notes, letters, drawings, and other items complement the narrative and give it the feel of a journal.
