Review by Horn Book Review

After Sister Bear watches a curse-riddled video at a friend's house, she shocks her family by swearing at the dinner table. Mama Bear's insights into why people curse (for attention, to seem grown-up) are fair enough, but the book suffers from preachiness, clichéd writing, artless cartoon illustrations, and naiveté: we're to believe that Sister Bear has never heard a swear word before.
