PreS-Gr 2-For her birthday, Nancy is treating her mother to all the comforts of a spa day in their backyard. After she receives a facial, manicure, pedicure, and frightening new hairstyle, Nancy calls in reinforcements (her neighbor, an honest-to-goodness beautician). In typical "Fancy Nancy" style, this installment includes a glittery cover and girly illustrations. Nancy's many fans are sure to enjoy this latest adventure and may be eager to try some of the recipes, from a soothing sea-salt foot soak to a yum yum yogurt parfait.-Lindsay Persohn, Crystal Lake Elementary, Lakeland, FL (c) Copyright 2010. Nancy sets up a day spa in the backyard to pamper her mother (i.e., "that means...spoil you in a fancy, lovely way") on her birthday. Beginning with a banana-honey face mask (recipe included for readers) and continuing with a mani-pedi, Nancy tries her best to make Mom's day great. Girly-girl readers may enjoy mimicking (most of) Nancy's spa treatments--not the hairdo-gone-awry--in this small-format superficial confection. (c) Copyright 2011.
