Huang (Ching's Chinese Food in Minutes), the engaging host the Cooking Channel's Chinese Food Made Easy and Easy Chinese: San Francisco, here provides recipes for popular and authentic Chinese takeout foods. Her preparations feature healthy ingredients and the flavors of favorite dishes. Huang was born in Taiwan and grew up in South Africa and England. Her favorite takeout meals and street foods from around the world make their way to her table. One of the distinctive features of this cookbook is a chapter on breakfasts that features Pork, Ginger, and Duck Egg Congee inspired by Hong Kong markets. Huang provides a number of vegetarian meals, as well as soups, meat and fish dishes, noodle and rice recipes, special concoctions, and desserts. The recipes are easy to follow, and ingredients are available at supermarkets, Chinese markets, or online, with a few exceptions. Verdict Huang's approachable and delicious recipes will suit a range of cooking abilities and cravings.
