Review by Publisher's Weekly Review
The zippy sixth October Daye urban fantasy (after the bestselling One Salt Sea) sees the changeling detective hired to locate a missing teenage girl. Chelsea, daughter of Toby's acquaintance Etienne, has inherited Toby's Fae ability to teleport, but not his control. She begins jumping at random, finding her way to the long-lost, long-abandoned Faerie homelands. Now Toby; her squire, Quentin; and Tybalt, King of Cats, must find Chelsea before she accidentally destroys the barriers that keep their world secure-while dodging someone who's willing to kill them all for control of Chelsea and her powers. McGuire applies a hard-boiled mentality and a keen appreciation for mythology to a blend of politics, magic, and romance to make this the most entertaining series installment to date.
