Gr 4 Up-This eclectic collection has more than 100 project ideas ranging from cooking and sewing to home decor and paper crafts. High-quality color photographs accompany clearly written instructions that take readers step-by-step through each activity. The practicality of some projects, such as furniture makeovers, seems questionable, and astrology, healthy eating, and genealogy seem out of place in a craft book. Nevertheless, readers will appreciate its global slant with sections on food customs and preparation, recipes for ethnic dips, using chopsticks, and making pinatas and origami. While nothing makes this title stand out from others of a similar scope, it is perfectly suitable for collections needing to replenish their craft shelves.-Rebecca Gueorguiev, New York Public Library (c) Copyright 2013.
