Review by Publisher's Weekly Review
Redmerski's self-published new adult romance garnered numerous fans, leading to this trade paper reissue. Camryn Bennett is miserably depressed after the death of her boyfriend and a handful of other crises. She buys a random bus ticket and hits the road to escape her problems. Andrew Parrish is traveling to visit his father, who has terminal brain cancer. The two 20-somethings bond en route with some adolescent banter about music, and after a brief visit with Andrew's father, they decide to drive to New Orleans. The road trip choppily segues into a romance with hints of domination and submission, though the former is not entirely convincing and the latter is undeveloped. Andrew and Camryn consummate their relationship but dilly-dally about commitment until a heavy-handed twist arises; it's quickly resolved in a hurried epilogue. The plot and emotional arc are uneven, but the thin characterization allows readers to fill in the details and enjoy projecting themselves into Andrew and Camryn's story. Devoted fans may pick up this edition for a new chapter from Andrew's point of view. Agent: Jane Dystel, Dystel & Goderich. (July) (c) Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved.
