Born in Sussex but raised-and orphaned-in America, breathtakingly lovely Tatiana Danforth has returned to England as the ward of the Duke of Falconbridge, her late father's cousin. Her goal is to marry well, leaving wild and scandal-ridden Capt. Ian Eversea out of the running. Of course, flirtatious, sometimes careless innocents like Tansy don't appeal to jaded Ian, -either, until he realizes there's much more to Tansy than she lets on and he's intrigued in spite of himself. With subtle hints of events to come, Long's latest tale updates the lives of those in Pennyroyal Green and gives one of her most notorious rakes a sweetly passionate love story. -VERDICT Seemingly total opposites, Tansy and Ian are one of Long's most sympathetic, beautifully revealed couples to date. Watching these two sort out their painful, deep-seated issues and come to terms with their love is an unadulterated pleasure. Long (It Happened One Midnight) lives in the San Francisco Bay area.
