This series of vignettes introduces various Christian churches, movements, and preachers from across the United States. Viewers discover quite a number of nonmainstream and peculiarly American Christian approaches, from snake handlers and an ex-stripper who ministers to strippers to a biker church, a cowboy church, the Church of Life After Shopping, a martial arts church, and a Christian comedy church. They are all presented respectfully, with the ministers/pastors explaining why they have chosen their particular form of worship. The film is fast moving, with all types of people expounding on their faith and how it spreads their gospel. Interviews with religion scholars help to decipher the phenomenon of American Christianity.
