Review by Publisher's Weekly Review

In her follow-up to We Love to Sew, author Wrigley has again put together an accessible, appealing group of projects aimed squarely at tweens. As she tells parents in an introductory note, "Between the ages of 8 and 13, girls really start to develop their own sense of personal style. They want their havens to be more grown up." Too bad for any boys who might be interested, it seems, for Wrigley's designs are very girl-friendly, full of hearts, pink, and neon. Projects are split up into chapters: in "Scrappy Patchwork Decor," a Simple Patch Throw should engage young sewists; "Let's Go Modern" offers the mesmerizing Pillows Three Ways (splattered, painted, and bleached); "A Little Boho" has a Groovy Applique Floor Rug; and "A Touch of Whimsy" contains the Sewn Flower Chandelier, a standout that looks slightly Scandinavian. Each project looks simple but parents should be on call, especially when the sewing machine is involved. The design of the book is busy, and missing photos that give a clear full view of each project. But Wrigley manages to squeeze many tutorials into a relatively slim book, with nary a dud idea.
