Review by Library Journal Review

Cooper's fourth book on jewelry crafting is a follow-up to Necklaceology and Metalworking 101 for Beaders. The author's credentials-she is a TV show host for the Public Television series Hands On, conducts workshops on jewelry and felt making, is an adjunct art instructor at Manchester College, and also teaches children as a form of educational outreach-are evident in this book. It is organized into 50 step-by-step projects that are well illustrated using sketches and close-up color photographs. The earrings are created using clever combinations of various materials, such as beads, felt, sequins, leather, chains, and wire. Some pieces are reproducible with just a basic knowledge of stringing and wire-wrapping techniques. Others require more time, expertise, and materials to fabricate and assemble. All the supplies are affordable and accessible to purchase either at craft stores or online. These unique earrings are upbeat and would appeal to a broad range of tastes. VERDICT Beaders and crafters of various ages and abilities will have fun with this book. Completing these projects should enable readers to progress to another level of design and technical capabilities.-Deborah Broocker, Georgia Perimeter Coll. Lib., Dunwoody (c) Copyright 2014.
