Review by School Library Journal Review
Gr 3-5-Each book gives a typical overview of the rules of the game before concentrating on the specific skills needed to succeed, such as catching and batting a baseball or relay-racing and hurdling. Superstars in each field are mentioned in a few sentences. Colorful photographs of boys and girls enjoying the sport enhance the text. The books are similar in scope to the "In the Zone" series (Weigl) but not as detailed in step-by-step execution as the "Skills in Motion" series (Rosen). Update an older collection by selecting from the various sports offered.-Blair Christolon, Prince William Public Library System, Manassas, VA (c) Copyright 2010.
