Review by School Library Journal Review
PreS-Gr 2-With vibrant illustrations and an engaging narrative, this title presents readers with a range of meteorological concepts, from rainbows and precipitation to solstices and the climate of deserts and rainforests. Smooth transitions link concepts seamlessly, such as the explanation that precipitation is recycled water from the Earth's surface that is linked to the formation of clouds, followed by a discussion of thunderstorms and tornados. Just as rainbows never end, so, too, does this title come full circle, by closing with a discussion of moonbeams and the never-ending universe. Bright images laced with subtle humor will keep young readers interested, as will the text's strategic use of "Did you know?" and "Have you heard of?" questions. A refreshing addition to public and school library meteorology collections.- Meaghan Darling, Plainsboro Public Library, NJ (c) Copyright 2014.
