Review by Library Journal Review

The latest from prolific knitwear and crochet designer Omdahl (Crochet so Fine) concentrates on drapey, romantic garments and accessories made from crocheted lace. Each chapter zeroes in on a particular technique (e.g., lace created using larger hooks with fine yarn, Bruges lace and Tunisian crochet, hairpin lace) or theme. There are plenty of drapey pullovers and airy shawls, and a few unusual pieces such as a wrap that can be worn as everything from a capelet to a poncho to a bulky scarf. Each pattern is accompanied by complete instructions, and most patterns give charted steps for the lace section. Diagrams and instructions for a few specialty stitches are included; knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques is assumed, making this most relevant for intermediate crocheters. VERDICT An appealing work for crocheters interested in producing pretty pieces appropriate for day-to-day wear or special occasions. © Copyright 2015.
