Review by Booklist Review
The latest installment of the Dog Diaries series features George Washington's prize foxhound, Sweetie, and her experiences during the Revolutionary War. Sweetie was born in a common litter, but she immediately stood out to General Washington, and he not only took her on hunts but also took her into battle. Sweetie tells the story in her own words, describing the people, and dogs, that General Washington works with during the war. Readers who are reluctant to read a historical fiction book will likely be drawn in by Sweetie's narration and may want to learn more about the founding of our country.--Erickson, Tiffany Copyright 2015 Booklist

In this continuation of the illustrated chapter-book series in which dogs tell their own stories in first-person narratives, Sweetie, a foxhound companion of George Washington, is witness to and participant in both Revolutionary War battles and Washington's domestic life. Her story is based on actual historical events described in the appendix; details about her breed are also included. (c) Copyright 2015.
