Former book editor Knight absolutely does not give a fuck. And she thinks you shouldn't either. Tired of meetings, deadlines, and feeling like she was missing out on life, she left a successful career behind to freelance. At first, her humorous guide seems like a parody of Marie Kondo's best-selling 2014 book about not allowing things to clutter your life (The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up), but it's more than that. Knight extols the virtue of leaving behind what's making you unhappy via a simple two-step program: decide what you don't give a fuck about, and stop giving a fuck about it. Once you look past the humor (and the swearing lots and lots of swearing), you'll see she actually covers topics that most people need to spend time thinking about, from dealing with work issues to setting personal boundaries to navigating family dysfunction. She offers suggestions on how to handle things based on beginner, intermediate, and expert level, and much of her advice is truly practical.
