Review by Booklist Review

Disney Channel's 2015 Descendants film was a cable hit, and its prequel novel, The Isle of the Lost (2015), was a best-seller. This sequel picks up where the movie left off: four evil Disney villains have been vanquished and imprisoned, and their offspring Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay are settling into their new lives as heroes. Mal, daughter of Maleficent, has put her evildoing days behind her and is happily dating Ben, recently made king and learning the royal ropes. But all, it seems, is not well: the four ex-villains receive messages demanding they return home to the Isle of the Lost. Suspicious and more than a little afraid that their devious parents are somehow at large, they comply, only to discover things at home are not as they had left them, and that their journey is only just beginning. Packed with plenty of humor and adventure, this sequel spinoff is destined to please. With a second movie in the works and a bevy of loyal readers, it certainly won't stay on shelves for long.--Reagan, Maggie Copyright 2016 Booklist

Someone is sending Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay threatening messages. Afraid that their notorious super-villain parents are hatching a new plot, the reformed kids must return to their seedy homeland to find out. This follow-up to Isle of the Lost is similarly unoriginal, but devoted Disney fans who were left wanting more after the tie-in Disney Channel movie Descendants will be pleased. (c) Copyright 2017.
