Perseverance I have grit

This useful and encouraging book in the Rookie Talk about It series illustrates perseverance and gives young readers the tools they need to develop it. By showing familiar examples of things that take practice to do well, like riding a bike or dribbling a basketball, Shepherd exemplifies character traits, like patience and determination, needed to accomplish these tasks. Malala Yousafzai, Martin Luther King Jr., Jane Goodall, and the Wright brothers are mentioned as examples of people whose success took patience. The well-designed book features lots of color photos, a character quiz for kids to see how much perseverance they have, sidebars with perseverance tips, a list of ways to practice this trait, a hypothetical question for kids to think about what they would do in a certain situation, and more.
