Review by Publisher's Weekly Review

The five die-cut holes in this board book are just the right size to slip one's fingers into; unfortunately, that makes them a ready meal for the cute but hungry monster inside. "Delectable digits for nibbling and crunching./ Scrumptious wigglers perfect for munching," writes newcomer Lewis in verse with the rollicking rhythms of a nursery rhyme. As fingers fall victim to the blue, pink-winged monster, the number of holes decreases until no fingers remain. Gross-out details ("Let's take a first lick. Is that earwax I taste?") and the subversive setup will almost certainly lead to giggles. And bite marks. Up to age 3. Author's agent: Duvall Osteen, Aragi Inc.
