Review by Booklist Review

Not much goes viral faster than than animals behaving badly, except those misbehaving creatures who happen to also be adorable. In this short chapter book, cute criminals are the stars of the show: an escape-artist rabbit attempts to rule the roost, a kleptomaniac black bear makes camping difficult, and a black Lab has a penchant for running away and eating things he shouldn't. While each brief account is fact-based, each story reads as fiction, with true fondness for each mischievous creature at its heart. Of course, this wouldn't be a National Geographic book without full-color action photographs of the perpetrators, and this one is filled with them. At the end of the amusing short stories are debriefings about the animals in question, and peppered throughout the chapters are text bubbles with Did you know? facts. The entire book is done in bright, eye-catching colors, while the chapters are short enough that they'll be less intimidating for emerging readers. Pronunciation guides for difficult vocabulary add extra assistance.--Linsenmeyer, Erin Copyright 2016 Booklist
