Review by Booklist Review

Sourcing from master brewers across the U.S. and Europe, Alworth brings together a unique collection of home-brewing recipes of classic beer styles. Styles are organized by seven traditions: British, German, Czech, Belgian, French and Italian, American, and Wild Ales. Recipes include myriad styles of ales (cask, saison, tart); stouts (Irish, Scottish); lagers (Bavarian, pilsner); and wheat (weissbier, gose); and all are credited to a specific master brewer. Alworth includes with each recipe a background and detailed description of the style and next steps to alter the recipes. Sidebars are scattered throughout, with information on diving deeper and notes on specific ingredients or variations. This informative compilation will a useful companion for the home brewer. A glossary and index are also included.--Smith, Becca Copyright 2017 Booklist
