Review by Booklist Review
This new collection features comic strips gathered from several decades' worth of Peanuts. Most of them focus on fan-favorite Snoopy as he interacts with Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, and other Peanuts characters. Standout strips include Lucy and Linus talking about the library and Linus' first description of the Great Pumpkin. Frieda appears in a lot of the strips here, criticizing Snoopy for lying about all day on top of his doghouse. All the strips appear in color, although the original daily strips were printed in black-and-white. The book features a little flip-book animation along the page edges (a balloon floating back and forth among clouds), a pull-out poster that librarians may want to pull out first, and some fun party activities. Any young Peanuts or Snoopy fan will enjoy this collection, while adult readers may notice how the artwork and certain characters hint at the original age of the strips. Schulz's simple, clean lines and focus on the characters make his comics timeless and appealing to readers of all ages.--Kan, Kat Copyright 2016 Booklist
