Trump's enemies How the deep state is undermining the presidency

Corey R. Lewandowski

Book - 2018

This book will reveal the heart of the hostile bureaucratic network that has been operating in the shadows until the American people voted Trump into office. Trump's determination to transform the government, wipe out the swamp, and reduce the power of the bureaucratic machine has set him on a collision course with agencies populated by a workforce resistant to the American people's agenda. That collision, however, is one that the president is prepared to meet head-on. Why? Because it is the key to unraveling the very swamp the administration is determined to end. The reader will have a front-row, exclusive seat for the political battles inside the White House and the war it is waging against those government bureaucrats, establis...hment officials, and foes within the Obama administration. This book will expose the political and bureaucratic underbelly, its struggle to survive against an unorthodox commander-and-chief, and its willingness to do almost anything to stop him.

Review by Publisher's Weekly Review

Haters and traitors are trying to derail President Trump's successful administration, according to this rancorous apologia. In heated prose, former Trump campaign managers Lewandowski and Bossie (Let Trump Be Trump) lambaste a rogue's gallery of Trump foes: congressional liberals; conservative Never-Trumpers; White House officials including National Economic Council director Gary Cohn, "poster boy for the disloyal staff conspiring against President Trump"; unnamed federal bureaucrats who leak and resist Trump's every move; and above all the "fake news" media. There's an interview with the president, but much of the book is a rebuttal of the "fake" Russian collusion allegations, asserting they're the product of anti-Trump conspiracies among intelligence operatives and FBI officials, especially James Comey. The authors contend that Trump campaign figures George Papadopoulos and Michael Flynn-who both pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI-simply misremembered a few details and downplay Trump's demand for "loyalty" from Comey as "just a throwaway line." Lewandowski and Bossie flaunt their presidential access-they recount being summoned frequently to Air Force One or the Oval Office for strategy meetings-and earn it by saluting "one of the most effective and efficient administrations in modern history." The result is simplistic, not persuasively argued, and as partisan as the anti-Trump sentiment it's reacting to. (Nov.) © Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved.
