Review by Horn Book Review
A Note to Parents and Educators states that these phonics primers offer the opportunity to practice and apply knowledge of the sounds in natural language. Beginning readers deserve better than unimaginative, posed-looking photographs and deadly dull, pointless ten-sentence stories that drill in--sometimes confusingly--the sounds of consonants, short and long vowels, or blends ([cf2]sh, wh[cf1], etc.). There are thirty-two other titles in this series. (c) Copyright 2010. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
