Kristin Hensley

Book - 2019

Has it been months since you've read a book with actual adult words that had nothing to do with farm animals or superheroes or going potty? Well then, it's time to take a break. Pour yourself some wine. Put on your comfy pants. Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley invite you to join their laugh-out-loud, best friend banter on the eighty bajillion ways moms give their all every day.--Adapted from dust jacket flap.

Review by Booklist Review

The authors of this funny, sweet duo-autobiography are comedians known for their social-media presence and appearances in their YouTube videos, on tour with their Mom's Night Out show, and on talk shows. Momming so hard isn't all roses. Hensley and Smedley focus solely on personal experience and avoid judging other moms. They share their losses as well as their joys and triumphs, and their sense of humor shines through, even when discussing difficult times. Many mom-bloggers and social-media personalities have published books, but Hensley and Smedley's stands out for the authors' honesty and great storytelling skills. For an equally fun Christian and un-conservative perspective, recommend Jen Hatmaker's Of Mess and Moxie (2017). Parents who prefer the humor minus the booze may enjoy Glennon Doyle Melton's Carry On, Warrior (2014). Moms everywhere will want to pick up this relatable book for an #ILaughedSoHard read.--Joyce McIntosh Copyright 2019 Booklist
