Review by School Library Journal Review

Gr 5-8-The making of various dynasties, both collegiate and professional, is analyzed in this thorough set. The success of the NCAA's Geno Auriemma and Mike Krzyzewski, as well as the NBA's Michael Jordan, is dissected. Coach Nick Saban and NFL quarterbacks Tom Brady and Troy Aikman have all helped build football dynasties in their own time. Of course, no dynasty talk would be complete without hockey's "Great One," Wayne Gretzky and his Edmonton Oilers, or Derek Jeter and his 14-season run with the New York Yankees. Readers will gain much from learning about the many hurdles and disappointments these powerhouses faced before their massive successes. Youth coaches and educators will cheer, as this series feeds nicely into growth mind-set and resilience development. VERDICT Recommended for most collections. © Copyright 2018.
