The LGBT rights movement

*Starred Review* Subjects like civil rights, the environment, the LGBTQ movement, and women's rights have been written about in many youth books but often in bits and pieces. So kudos to the Push for Social Change series (4 titles) for providing comprehensive looks at how these movements began, progressed, and, in some cases, are faring today. Despite the fact each book has a different author, the series' hallmark is the clarity of the writing and a deep dig into the history, often highlighting personal stories or pieces of history that are lesser known. The origins of the gay liberation movement are detailed in The LGBT Rights Movement, spanning Stonewall to marriage equality.
