Review by Booklist Review

The wearable embroidery here is a far cry from the simple monogram or motif. These 60 tiny projects meld embroidery with beading and painting, use found fabrics and photo transfers, and experiment with appliqué to create jewelry and other decorative wearable pieces. Lyne's introductions to each project are playfully cheeky without sacrificing clear instructions, and they add a charming personal touch. The techniques range from very simple stitches that are easy enough to pick up without prior experience to more elaborate and classic embroidery techniques that take a practiced hand (and fully benefit from the glossary and illustrated instructions that are included). Clear photographs of both in-progress and finished products help crafters stay on track. With enough range to appeal to a variety of craft sensibilities, this selection will delight readers and provide ample ideas for library craft groups and all those looking for fresh and personal ways to display their needlework.--Heather Booth Copyright 2019 Booklist
