Review by Publisher's Weekly Review
In Hannah's entertaining sequel to 2018's Cherry Pies & Deadly Lies, Whitney Bloom, the manager of the Cherry Orchard Inn in Cherry Cove, Wis., is less than enthusiastic about hosting acclaimed artist Silvia Lumiere at the inn. Despite Sylvia mistreating everyone with vicious abandon and running up unpaid bills in every way she can, most townspeople are mesmerized by her. When a body is found at the inn with cherry scones stuffed down the victim's throat, Whitney falls under suspicion, since she baked the scones. Meanwhile, Whitney is busy juggling the two men in her life: town police officer Jack MacLaren and Tate Vander Hagen, a former boyfriend whom she's seeing again on a trial basis. Fortunately, Jack doesn't believe she's guilty, but Whitney still needs to clear her own name. When her efforts fail to bear fruit, she enlists the help of a friend from her Chicago days, Giff McGrady, a master at sniffing out secrets. Colorful characters and an unusual motive compensate for the rambling plot. Cozy fans won't be disappointed. (June) © Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved.
