INTRODUCTION There's a reason that the ketogenic diet has become so wildly popular. It truly works. And, weight loss is just the beginning. Studies have shown that it stabilizes mood, raises energy levels, controls blood sugar, lowers blood pressure, improves cholesterol, and more. I have personally seen the benefits in my own life. I spent years feeding bad habits in my teens and early twenties. This time in my life was marked with packaged foods, loads of sugar, low energy, anxiety, and even depression. Like many people, I started a low carb diet to lose weight. Surprisingly, while the weight loss was nice, the biggest impact was the benefit to my overall health. The low carb, keto lifestyle has completely changed my mental and physical well-being. I feel more motivated and energetic than I ever have in my life. My mood is stable. My anxiety and depression are gone. Two kids later, I'm at a healthy weight with low blood pressure and cholesterol, despite a strong family history of the contrary.
